SCOTT COLLINS

Scott Collins has been the Head Coach of the Southeast Alberta Youth Dart Club for the last two years and volunteered with the club for a few years prior to that. Scott is no stranger to darts or the youth program. As a third generation dart competitor, Scott was a five-time member of Team Alberta at the Youth Nationals (1992-1995) and holds the title of Canadian Senior Male Youth Singles Champion. Scott continued on in the adult program and represented Team Alberta at the 2000 and 2002 Adult Nationals. Scott not only shares his competitive skills and knowledge with his two sons (now the fourth generation of Dooley dart players), he shares this with all of the youth players in the Southeast Alberta Youth Dart Club.

Shauna Collins started playing darts in the mid 90’s, playing in Calgary’s Community League with her Mom. From there she went on to play in both the Calgary Pub League and Calgary’s Ladies League. After moving to Medicine Hat in the early 2000’s Shauna took some time away from the game to focus on her new family. For the last several years, on and off, Shauna has played in the Medicine Hat Dart League. Shauna says her greatest accomplishment has been coaching the Southeast Alberta Youth Dart League over the last few years.

ROB KOCHIE

Rob Kochie has been playing darts for 27 years. Darts runs in his family. Through a lot of practicing and honing his dart skills, he now has four City championship titles (Men’s Singles twice, Men’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles). His most honored accomplishment was becoming a coach of the Southeast Alberta Youth Dart Club in 2014.  It allows him not only to watch, help and coach his own daughters, but also to give back to sport that gave him so much as a youth growing up. Rob believes that today's youth are the future of our sport and his goal is to have a lasting impression on not only the youth athletes he coaches but to the sport itself.

Leslie Kochie begin playing darts when she moved to Medicine Hat in 2000. Her Mom played in a league and she thought she’d give it a try. She really enjoyed the sport and continued to play. During her years competing, she’s won three League Championships (Mixed Doubles, Women’s Doubles and Women’s Singles). But Leslie finds that being a youth club coach is far more rewarding than any championship title. Leslie enjoys showing and teaching our future dart champions about the game. She finds it a truly humbling and wonderful experience to see how enthusiastic these kids are to learn.

RAINE DARBYSHIRE

Raine Darbyshire started playing darts in the basement when she was 14 years old, and when she turned 19 went on to play with her parents at their local Legion in Northwestern Ontario.  Raine moved to Alberta 12 years ago. Darts has played a big part of her life. Because of her enjoyment and love of the sport, she taught her husband Ernie how to play. Raine and Ernie created the Irvine Mixed Dart League which is still going 10 years later. Because she loves to teach, especially when it’s something she’s very passionate about, Raine became a coach with the Southeast Alberta Youth Dart Club last season. Raine really enjoys working with the youth and is looking forward to taking the NDFC Level 1 Coaching Course this season to enhance her coaching skills.

Nikki Huber followed in her Dad’s footsteps—playing darts since her early twenties. Nikki is a two-time member of Team Alberta, competing in the 2008 and 2009 National Adult Championships. After the passing of her Dad, Nikki developed Dartitis. Nikki told us "you know the old saying those who can’t–teach", so she's decided to start coaching at the youth club level.
